Are paid surveys legit? Here's how to check JOYT for yourself

Many paid survey sites are legit; some aren't. The legit ones are run by a named company, show you what each survey pays, and never ask you for money. JOYT is one of them: a real survey panel, run by a named business, that pays the rewards it shows. But "legit" isn't the same as "lots of money": survey rewards are small, and our earnings guide says exactly how small. Here's everything you need to judge JOYT, or any survey site, before you hand over your email address.

Who runs JOYT

JOYT is run by Civitas, a sole proprietorship based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Our full details are in our legal notice, and you can email us at .

Where the surveys come from

The surveys come from market research companies. They reach JOYT members through Cint, a market research technology company registered in Sweden (Cint AB, registration number 556559-8769).

Cint also runs your JOYT account, your rewards and the quality checks that keep fraud out. Your data is handled under Cint's participant privacy notice, linked at the bottom of every JOYT page.

How you get paid

  • You can cash out once your balance reaches $5, up to $100 at a time.
  • You choose how: PayPal, a gift card or an Amazon gift card.
  • When you redeem, your reward link appears right away.
  • New rewards stay pending for 28 to 56 days while Cint checks the quality of each survey. Members with Priority Status skip that wait; Cint reviews it daily, based on how you take part and the quality of your answers.

The wait is what surprises people most, so it's worth knowing up front: your first cash-out can come a month or two after your first surveys.

What JOYT never asks for

  • Money. Joining and taking surveys are free. A survey site that charges a sign-up fee isn't one to trust.
  • Card details. We never ask for them.
  • Every survey. You can decline any survey you don't want to take.

What to expect once you join

Most survey attempts don't get all the way through. Researchers look for specific people, so many surveys end after a few questions because you're not the profile they need, or because they already have enough answers. That's normal on every survey site. When it happens, we look for another survey for you, up to six times. A survey that ends early pays nothing.

How many invitations you get depends on how well your profile matches the studies running at the time. Some members get few. Keeping your profile up to date helps.
