How JOYT makes money

JOYT is free to join, and it stays free. Here's where our money comes from, so you can judge everything else we tell you.

When you complete a survey

Market research companies pay to hear from people like you. They buy completed surveys through Cint's research exchange, which sends their surveys to JOYT members.

For each completed survey, the researcher pays. Cint keeps a share for running the exchange and looking after your account and rewards. The rest comes to JOYT. From that, we pay the reward shown in your invitation, sometimes with a boost on top, and we keep the difference.

That's why every invitation shows its reward before you start: you see your share up front, and you decide whether it's worth your time.

If a survey ends early because the researcher was looking for someone with a different profile, the researcher doesn't pay for it. JOYT earns nothing from it, and neither do you.

Links to other services

Some of our guides suggest other ways to earn online. When a link goes to a service that pays us if you sign up, we mark it "Ad", and the guide says so at the top. The commission comes from that company, not from you: you get the same deal as anyone else.

We never put these links in our guides about how JOYT works or what you can earn.

What we spend it on

Running the site, and finding new members through advertising on social media.

What we don't do

  • We don't charge members anything.
  • We don't ask for card details.
  • We don't sell your personal data. Your account is held by Cint and handled under its participant privacy notice.

Who runs JOYT
